The Law of Giving

Did you know that the Law of Giving precedes the Law of Attraction?  The Law of Attraction tells us that whatever we give our focus to will appear in our lives. Give first, then receive. The Giver becomes the Receiver becomes the Giver becomes the Receiver…

When you hear the word “give,” do you automatically reply with something like “I just don’t have the money right now, but as soon as I do I’ll give”?

Or perhaps you say “I wish there were more time in the day, but life is just so busy. When things settle down, I’ll help more.” Or maybe this is you – “I don’t know what I could do. I really don’t have any special talents.”

If you are one of those good people whose first reaction is “I can’t afford to give right now, but will when I can,” then it’s time you faced a cold hard fact: With that mindset, you will never be able to afford to give. Never. A reluctance to give hurts YOU first and foremost. For the moment, I’ll leave you with that uncomfortable thought…

Instead, let’s begin with a simple truth. Your ability to give has nothing to do with your present circumstances including the status of the economy or your own wealth, time, or talent. What we traditionally think of as giving is just one teensy piece of the picture. In fact, where giving is concerned volunteering is purely voluntary, check writing is not required, and everyone has plenty of skills.

Consider this: Giving is the most important action you take every day, the basis for everything else that happens in your life. You’ve probably been hearing a lot about the Law of Attraction and how to utilize it to create success, but did you know that the Law of Giving precedes the Law of Attraction?  The Law of Attraction tells us that whatever we give our focus to is what will appear in our lives. If you focus on wanting more time, talent, or money, you’ll just receive more wanting. Focus on not having enough to give and you’ll just continue not having enough. On the other hand, focusing on gratitude for the time, talent, and treasure you already have, no matter how much or how little it seems to be, will cause it to multiply, and focusing on giving, no matter what you give, will fill your coffers with more to give. Give first, then receive. It’s the giving that opens you to receive and the receiving that provides you with more to give.

The Giver becomes the Receiver becomes the Giver becomes the Receiver…
The Law of Giving creates that perfect flow of reciprocity that fuels the Law of Attraction.

The shocking pervasiveness of this automatic “no” to requests for giving was brought home recently when I posted a blog on Facebook about the Kindness Initiative at the Q Kindness Café in St. Paul, MN. Numerous replies detailed why the responders could not afford to give right now. Keep in mind the post only suggested setting aside one week each month to consciously give kindness. That’s it. There was nothing to buy, and no extra time or special talents were involved. Yet the automatic response of quite a few people was “I can’t afford to give right now.” Granted, times are hard for many people, but have we really come to the point where even hearing or reading the word “give” puts us on the defensive? Even in the worst of times – The Great Depression or after natural disasters – people find ways to give and share. Do we need a major trigger before we can let go of our own fears of not having enough? (To read the full post, please visit http://www.chickswithchecks.blogspot.com/)

Maybe we just feel a little stumped and need some help getting started. That’s where The Art of Giving FREE eBook can help. When you feel too “poor” to even give kindness, you literally close yourself off from all receiving and won’t even notice all the wonderful things being offered to you, whether kindness or opportunity or love.

Give first.

THAT is the work that is required to open your eyes so you too can receive.
THAT is the Law of Giving that opens the door to the Law of Attraction.

There are literally thousands of ways to give moment by moment, day by day, that require no money, time, or special talent. By starting with the freebies in The Art of Giving and practicing with them, you will begin to see lots of other ways to give, which then opens you to receive even more which then allows you to give in other ways.

The Giver becomes the Receiver becomes the Giver becomes the Receiver…Happy Giving!

I feel that despite some of my own struggles I’m blessed by someone or something. It occourred to my about a month ago that I needed to give some time somewhere of Thanksgiving along with a financial gift. In speaking wth my mom I was able to give her some money for a old family friend in dire need of help. The church I’m a seldom seen member at has a food pantry that I was able to volunteer at last Saturday. It flet nice to be there helping my mom and people that are not a fortunate as I have been. The Giver does become the receiver, it may not be money for money or time for time. But in some way giving time, or money, or food, or maybe some kindness will return to you in some way. You can’t think about it and not give something, those jobs are already taken. You just need something to get started with and then the rest will follow.

      Hi Mike,

Yes, we are all SO blessed if we only have eyes to see and I’ll bet your own Thanksgiving felt even more wonderful because of your giving.

Are you familiar with the Prinicple of Money in Motion also known as the Seed Money Principle? It says that everything we give in pure gratitude with no strings attached comes back to us tenfold. It happens every single time whether or not we notice. Wonder what would happen if we started noticing and really paid attention in gratitude to what is really being give to each of us? Wonder what would happen if we started living that way every day?

Rick and I hope to see all of you at Christmas.

      Warm regards,

      Anne
